STATE OF HEART AND SOUL

It is in those moments of stillness and silence when the pieces of Discernment fall into place, when Revelation whispers quietly and nods in affirmation at a road already taken.

Tonight, after a particularly frenzied day, in the midst of a humid summer night, Paul and I re-encountered three pieces of poetry and musi
c that seemed to have been sent to us as reminders of where we are now, where we came from, and where we intend to go together.

While listening to the last song in this entry, my Facebook status read: "In a moment of pure sentimentality, we just paused from whatever we were doing on our laptops, sat silently still, and let the words and the melodies of this song fill the whole room."

I share these with you tonight and send out all my well wishes across the Universe. I wish that you who read this will find your heart as full of love, joy, and serenity as my heart is now.

ACROSS THE UNIVERSE
John Lennon and Paul McCartney

Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,

They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind,

Possessing and caressing me.

Jai guru de va om

Nothing's gonna change my world,
Nothing's gonna change my world.

Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes,

That call me on and on across the universe,

Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box they

Tumble blindly as they make their way
Across the universe

Jai guru de va om
Nothing's gonna change my world,

Nothing's gonna change my world.

Sounds of laughter shades of earth are ringing

Through my open views inviting and inciting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a

Million suns, it calls me on and on

Across the universe

Jai guru de va om
Nothing's gonna change my world,

Nothing's gonna change my world.

SOMEWHERE I HAVE NEVER TRAVELLED, GLADLY BEYOND
e.e. cummings

somewhere i have never travelled,
gladly beyond
any experience,
your eyes have their silence:

in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,

or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look will easily unclose me

though i have closed myself as fingers,

you open always petal by petal myself
as Spring opens
(touching skilfully,mysteriously)her first rose

or if your wish be to close me, i and
my life will shut very beautifully ,suddenly,

as when the heart of this flower imagines

the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals

the power of your intense fragility:whose texture

compels me with the color of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes

and opens;only something in me understands

the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)

nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

THE FIRST
TIME I LOVED FOREVER
From the TV series Beauty and the Beast

Lyrics by Melanie Safka
Music by Lee Holdridge
Sung by Lisa Angelle
With excerpts from the poem
Somewhere I Have Never Travelled, Gladly

Poem: “Somewhere I have never traveled
Gladly beyond any experience

Your eyes have their silence

And your most frail gesture of things

Which enclose me

But which I cannot touch

Because they are too near.”

The first time I loved forever

Was when you whispered my name
And I knew at once you loved me

For the me of who I am

The first time I loved forever

I cast all else aside

And I bid my heart to follow

Be there no more need to hide

And if wishes and dreams

Are merely for children

And if love's a tale for fools
I'll live the dream with you

Poem:
“oh, if your words be to close me
I, my life will shut, very beautifully

Suddenly, as when the heart of this flower

Imagines the snow carefully, everywhere
descending”.

For all my life and forever

There's a truth I will always know

When my world divides and shatters

Your love is where I'll go

Poem:
“I do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens. Only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses.

Nobody, not even the rain has such small hands."
